At La Touche Musicale, we are committed to protecting your privacy and want you to know how we handle your personal information.

We have updated the Music Button service, which includes new settings that give you more control over how Music Button can use and share your personal data.

Along with these new settings, we have also updated our Data Protection Policy to provide you with more accurate and transparent information about how La Touche Musicale – as the data controller – collects, uses, shares, maintains and protects your personal data.

Personal information we collect

By “personal data” we mean any data that allows La Touche Musicale to identify you directly or indirectly.

Your personal data may be provided directly by you, provided indirectly by third parties (for example, when you subscribe to the La Touche Musicale service via the Apple App Store or Google Play), or collected directly by us when you use the La Touche Musicale service. When we ask you to provide your personal information, we indicate which information is required to be collected. Thank you for providing us with complete and accurate data. Providing us with incomplete or inaccurate information may prevent us from providing you with the La Touche Musicale service.

Personal information we collect when you subscribe to the La Touche Musicale service

Account data
  • Your login details (email address and password)

Personal information we collect when you subscribe to a paid package of the La Touche Musicale service

Subscription data
  • Package to which you have subscribed (La Touche Musicale annual, La Touche Musicale semi-annual, La Touche Musicale monthly)
  • Details of the transaction made (date of the transaction, amount paid, currency, method of payment). Your card details are entered directly with our payment providers (Stripe, Apple, Google): we never receive your full card number or its security code.

Personal information we collect when you use the La Touche Musicale service

Usage data
  • Your session history (duration, tracks played, artists, titles, your playing performances)
  • Your favorite contents (artists, titles you like)
Technical data
  • Information about your device (type of device you use, unique identifier, hardware model, operating system version, hardware and software settings, browser used, cookie or similar technology, system language)
  • Information about your browsing on the La Touche Musicale service (date and time of connection, pages consulted, date and time of consultation, your searches)

Personal information we collect when you contact our Customer Service Department

Query data
  • Details of your request or complaint (including date, time, subject and content of your request)
  • Content of your exchanges with Customer Service
  • Any other data considered necessary to process your request or complaint

Other data we may collect

Participation data
  • Data we may collect to enable you to participate in initiatives we organize (e.g., events, contests or satisfaction surveys)

Why we use your personal information

We primarily use your personal information to enable you to enjoy the La Touche Musicale service, but also to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations. In any case, we do not make any decision based exclusively on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal effects on you or significantly affects you in a similar way.

To deliver the La Touche Musicale service

We use your account data, subscription data, usage data and technical data to enable you to enjoy the La Touche Musicale service, including the following features:

  • Learning the titles of the music catalog;
  • Adding titles to your favorites;
  • Display your game performance on each of the titles in your favorites;
  • Resume the music at the point where you left off during your last session.

This use of your personal data is necessary to provide you with the La Touche Musicale service, in accordance with the contract that binds us to you.

To improve, secure and monitor the La Touche Musicale service

We use your account data, subscription data, usage data and technical data for the following purposes:

  • Improvement of the existing functionalities of La Touche Musicale service and its overall performance;
  • Development of new features and services;
  • Ensure the ongoing security, confidentiality, integrity, availability and resiliency of the La Touche Musicale service;
  • Measurement and analysis of the audience and use of the La Touche Musicale service.

This use of your personal data is necessary for us to fulfill our legitimate interest in providing the best possible La Touche Musicale service to our users.

To promote the service La Touche Musicale

To manage your Customer Service requests

We use your account data, subscription data, usage data, technical data and query data to manage your customer service requests, for example:

  • When you contact our Customer Service for technical or functional support;
  • When you want to exercise the rights you have on your personal data.

This use of your personal data is necessary to enable us to comply with our obligations arising from the contract between you and us, or where your rights are concerned, the laws and regulations on the protection of personal data to which La Touche Musicale is subject.

To manage your payments (paying users only)

We use your account data, subscription data, usage data and technical data for the following purposes:

  • Processing your payment;
  • Accounting and tax obligations ;
  • Fight against fraud, in order to detect and prevent fraudulent payments or fraudulent use of the La Touche Musicale service.

This use of your personal data is necessary to enable us to process your payment, in accordance with the contract that binds us to you, to comply with accounting and tax regulations to which La Touche Musicale is subject, as well as to fight against fraud, which is in the legitimate interest of La Touche Musicale.

Please note that some of these recipients are located in countries outside the European Union / European Economic Area, and whose regulations do not ensure a level of protection of personal data equivalent to that provided by Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR).

Most of these non-European Union / European Economic Area recipients are located in the United States of America. Where they are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, transfers to them rely on the adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission on 10 July 2023 (Article 45 of the GDPR).

For recipients who are not located in the European Union / European Economic Area, or who are not located in a country with a level of data protection considered adequate (Article 45 of the GDPR), or who are not certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, we would take all necessary steps to ensure that they provide appropriate safeguards, such as implementing the standard contractual clauses defined by the European Commission (Article 46.2 of the GDPR).

Your data sharing

When you use The Musical Touch service, you have the option to:

  • Connect third-party devices to your user account, such as pianos, keyboards, synthesizers or connected speakers, smartphone, tablet and computer;

You can manage your profile in your settings.

How long we keep your personal data

We keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which we collect and use it.

Please note that we reserve the right to verify your identity before responding to your request.

If you are not completely satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority.

Association with GAR and the Ministry of Education

The department ensures the protection of personal data for access to resources produced by students and teachers.

The GAR is a data processing system of the Ministry of Education. GAR data processing is under the sole responsibility of the Minister of National Education. Heads of schools are therefore not required to enter this processing in their registers as they do not determine the purposes and means of the processing.

Changes to our Data Protection Policy

We regularly review the compliance of our Data Protection Policy (at least once a year), in particular to ensure that it is in line with new legislation and regulations on the protection of personal data.
