Released as a single from their third album of the same name, one day after the release of the 1982 movie “Rocky III” for which it was the theme song, it received huge airplay on MTV and radio and dominated the charts worldwide that year. In the United States it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. In the UK, the single sold 956,000 copies and stayed at the top of the UK Singles Chart for 4 weeks. The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified the song platinum (over 2 million vinyl copies sold) in August 1982. This song is still very popular years later.
