It’s been over 50 years since I last touched a piano (1 year of piano at the age of 10). So a few basics. Today at 60 years, to work my neurons and my memory, 3 months ago I bought a digital piano, Yamaha, take advantage of the offer 3 months trial to the app Flowkey Premium. In parallel I try other apps, but they do not suit me. With Flowkey, you can redo the lessons over and over again, with a wide range of songs at beginner, intermediate, expert and pro levels. New songs are added regularly. In parallel with Flowkey I work on my solfege with an app that trains me to read treble and bass clefs. I have just subscribed to a lifetime Premium subscription, all that to say that I am a fan of this app and of the customer service which is very reactive when we ask questions. Congratulations to them.

Excellent app as much for the neophytes as for the most demanding. Too few French baroque composers such as F.Couperin or J.Duphly or Lully for example. App a little expensive despite everything but relatively well finished. Connection to the keyboard very fast.

I’m a complete beginner and I’m hanging in there and persevering, but the learning process skips steps and you quickly get left behind. It is certainly good for someone who has already 1 or 2 years of piano behind him, but not really for beginners. I’m not saying this just to criticize, but I’m also trying out competing courses where the difficulty is less exponential and I feel like I’m making progress. It’s really a pity because I really like the illustration of the finger placement by video and by illuminated keys on Flowkey. The other failure concerns the ergonomics of the app; the filters by level don’t work well and re-mix the levels (colors of song levels). Another pity is that you can’t bookmark a song when you do a search on the fly (with the magnifying glass). At least I tried everything and found nothing (unless the function is well hidden).

Application that seems very good and very intuitive at first but after some steps the recognition of the notes is not good at all and it becomes very complicated to progress, the application bawls and tells you that bad notes are played when they are not.

Synthesia has a really great learning process for beginners. You can practice your song note by note, and once you are confident enough, you can play them all together! You can even decide to use your left hand, your right hand, or even both! The piano notes are very large and easy to use. They don’t use notes, but numbers. This makes memorization easier. You can pause any song! You can even log into Apple Music and learn to play your favorite songs! There are also harder and easier versions of some songs!

Full piano sound, fully adjustable for purpose and ability, with responsibility scores and songs included to learn at your own pace or download .mid songs from the internet, and much more…very useful app.

When I try to play a song, I try to hit the note when it was close to the piano, but however, it was wrong anyway! I thought this game was broken, but I noticed that EVERY song was really hard for me, and I don’t understand the purpose of this app. Despite the fact that the app was very disappointing, it was still fun and great. I love the sound of the instruments, and the colors are great! However, I noticed that I received the demo version, and that’s what made me mad. If I had to rate this app, I would give it a 0.5/10, because of the bad features it offers!

Clumsy application, most of the music is not complete or missing notes, the list of songs is limited. For the price of the app, I expected better. It would be nice if the music learner could use the tablet’s speaker for note recognition. If you try to use it with a midi keyboard, you’ll need a special cable for midi to the tablet or phone, and a piano transposed to the correct key.
